Rafting in AnNong River, Yilan | A visit to small mountain city in north east Taiwan

One day in 2015 summer, ONPS students visited Yilan, the small mountain city next to Taipei. Their destination is AnNong River, surrounded by mountains in outskirts Yilan and the ultimate paradise for boating in Taiwan.

AnNong River earned its name for crossing water area, watershed, adventure area and challenge area with 10kms. It’s also because the river spans mountains, hills and plains, which never fails to bewilder and satisfy the visitors.

Our students came across visitors who just finished their journey at the entrance. Their big smile and conversation about the adventure just now raised their anticipation for the day even more.

They also saw a group of kids having fun playing water at cleaning area.

The river greeted our adventurers with peaceful, calm water at first, but after the first section it came the challenge. Our students weren’t knocked down. On the contrary, they enjoyed the “workouts”.

Everyone was super exhausted but excited the moment they reached the destination. A picture with AnNong River and sunset as background marked the end of today. They returned to Taipei with joyful memories, and a good nap on the bus.
