About the program

Summer in Taiwan ( SIT ) is tailored for international students seeking immersive experiences in intensive Chinese language and cultural studies. Over three weeks, participants have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Chinese-speaking environment, engaging in activities that improve communication skills and foster a deeper understanding of the Chinese language and Asian culture. The program offers a range of courses, covering the Chinese language, business, and the digital transformation of Chinese society. Moreover, students can engage in enterprise visits and cultural field trips throughout the term.

Eligibility
Age: 16 or above
Enrolled in an English-speaking university
Recommended English Proficiency Level
TOEFL IBT 80/IELTS 6 English proficiency

Application Steps
Register and Email Verification:
· Create an account on the Soochow University online portal.
· Verify your email address through the confirmation link sent to your registered email.
Online Application:
· Select one course from the AM Session.
· Fill out the online application form on the university's website.
Required Documents Submission:
Submit a color copy of your official transcripts/Certificate of Enrollment from your home university.
Application Fee Payment:
Pay the application fee of USD$70 and tuition fees of USD$2000 online through the university's payment portal.
Application Payment Method:
The university only accepts wire transfers for tuition payments. Please use WISE for your payment. For assistance, contact us at scuip@mss.scu.edu.tw.
Admission Letter and Pre-departure Guide:
Soochow University will send you the Admission Letter and Pre-departure guide before the program starts.

TRANSCRIPT / CREDIT TRANSFER
Upon completion of the program, transcripts will be issued and sent out within two weeks. Credit systems differ depending on the home university, and students are advised to consult with their home university regarding how SCU credits will be transferred.
TEACHING ASSISTANT AND STUDENT SERVICE
Our teaching assistants are proficient in both Chinese and English. We assign a teaching assistant to each class and provide ongoing student support throughout the program.
STUDENT SUPPORT
Comprehensive student service support is available throughout the programs, with dedicated teaching assistants addressing academic queries. Academic advisors offer education counseling, and additional staff assist students with any challenges during the program.
